Expressing sympathy and admiration for the citizens and guests of Boston in response to the April 15th tragic and cowardly terrorist attack during the Boston Marathon: 2 bombs, 3 dead, and over 180 injured.

WHEREAS, On April 15, 2013, Patriots Day, during the running of the world-renown Boston Marathon, which attracted tens of thousands of participants and supporters from Boston and around the world, the Innocent confronted the Face of Evil in the form of a tragic and cowardly terrorist attack involving two bomb explosions that killed three and injured over 180 people; and
WHEREAS, First Responders, Police, Firefighters, Medical Personnel, Soldiers, and Ordinary People demonstrated great courage and compassion in dealing with the consequences of that terrorist attack; and
WHEREAS, We are all in this together; and
WHEREAS, We will not be afraid; and
WHEREAS, We will not be disrupted; and
WHEREAS, We will not succumb; but
WHEREAS, We will be brave; and
WHEREAS, We will carry-on; and
WHEREAS, We will overcome; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby expresses its sympathy and admiration for the citizens and guests of Boston in response to the April 15th tragic and cowardly terrorist attack during the Boston Marathon: 2 bombs, 3 dead, and over 180 injured.
