WHEREAS, September 11, 2021 marks the Twentieth Anniversary of the tragic attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon which took the lives of thousands of Americans; and

WHEREAS, During the chaos that ensued, first responders and everyday citizens from all walks of life joined together in selfless acts of sacrifice and humanity to save an inestimable number of lives; and

WHEREAS, Firefighters, police, and EMTs heroically ran headfirst into the danger despite the uncertain nature of the attacks. The impact of their bravery is incalculable, and we appreciate the sacrifices they made to help others in a time of great need; and

WHEREAS, Many employees working in the World Trade Center risked their lives to help coworkers and fellow citizens trapped in the building, rapidly adapting to the dangerous environment. Their courage was lifesaving; it deserves to be honored and recognized; and
