8 judiciary, Clerk of Quarter Sessions
9 Court, City Commissioners, Register of
10 Wills, Sheriff and judges of Traffic
11 Court.
12 We ask that you now please
13 either silence or turn off all pagers and
14 cellular phones for the remainder of the
15 ceremony. Thank you.
16 Ladies and gentlemen, please
17 rise and bow your heads for the
18 invocation given by His Eminence Justin
19 Cardinal Rigali, Archbishop of
20 Philadelphia.
21 CARDINAL RIGALI: Almighty and
22 Eternal God, you have revealed your glory
23 to the nations. God of Wisdom and
24 Justice, through you authority is rightly
25 administered.

3 primacy in our lives. May the desire to
4 be faithful to your commands direct our
5 thoughts and actions.
6 Bless our Mayor, Michael
7 Nutter, the members of City Council and
8 all elected officials of the City of
9 Philadelphia. Grant them the wisdom and
10 strength to strive to do your will in all
11 things for the greater honor and glory of
12 your name and for the good of all the
13 citizens of this City.
14 May this Administration be
15 marked by a profound respect for the
16 dignity of every person. Sustain its
17 efforts to bring about justice for every
18 man, woman and child. May it continually
19 work towards an end to the violence that
20 plagues the streets of our City.
21 Amidst the challenges and
22 trials that we face each day, help us
23 with your grace to be people of hope, to
24 persevere with confidence in the task you
25 have entrusted to us so that one day we
