Honoring Suzann Christine for her role in mentoring upcoming Philadelphia artists and leading by example, showing how success can build not just portfolios but people and neighborhoods.WHEREAS, Suzann Christine is a multi album recording artist who has appeared on stage with acts as diverse as Mary J Blidge, The Roots, DJ Khaled, and Patti LaBelle among others; andWHEREAS, Ms. Christine has always seen the need for those who succeed to stay connected to their communities to reach back and lift up the next generation; andWHEREAS, In addition to performing Suzann Christine has served as a mentor to countless young people in Philadelphia through groups like Grammy U, The Fly Star program, Pearls of Wisdom and many others; andWHEREAS, In a career that has involved preeminent recordings, performances and events aplenty, years from now Suzann Christine may be best remembered for being a mentor to many, an ally after tough breaks and for always finding ways to give young and emerging artists as many chances as she could; therefor be itRESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we honor the way Suzann Christine has chosen to live life and use her success to build more success in individuals, in Philadelphia and beyond.FURTHER RESOLVED, That an engrossed resolution be presented to Suzann Christine, further evidencing the sincere respect of this legislative body.
