Honoring the members of Commonwealth Association of School Administrators as they have made significant contributions to their community, advocating for the rights and interests of staff and students in the school district.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Commonwealth Association of School Administrators (CASA) has played in preparing educational leaders for promotion and the challenges of school administration, providing invaluable training, resources, and support throughout their leadership journey; and

 

WHEREAS, CASA’s dedication to professional development and advocacy for school administrators has had a direct and lasting impact on the careers of these first-year principals, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead with confidence and effectiveness; and

 

WHEREAS, This 24-25 schoolyear cohort of new principals in the School District of Philadelphia represents a historic milestone, marking a significant achievement in leadership development and the promotion of a pipeline of growing your own talent within our schools; and

 

WHEREAS, These first-year principals have demonstrated remarkable resilience, commitment, and leadership, navigating the complex responsibilities of managing school operations, fostering a positive school culture, and supporting student achievement during their inaugural year in these important roles; and

 

WHEREAS, CASA has partnered with the School District of Philadelphia in creating pathways for leadership development, building strong networks of support, and advocating for the needs of administrators, which has directly contributed to the success of the current class of first-year principals; and

 

WHEREAS, During the tenure of Dr. Robin P. Cooper as President of CASA, the union has worked diligently to support its members, offering guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth, ensuring that school administrators are well-prepared to tackle the challenges they face and continue to improve their schools and district; and

 

WHEREAS, CASA has partnered with the School District of Philadelphia in creating pathways for leadership development, building strong networks of support, and advocating for the needs of administrators, which has directly contributed to the success of the current class of first-year principals; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby honors these new principals of 24-25 SY for their accomplishments as educational leaders, recognizing the tremendous impact they have made on their schools and the communities they serve and acknowledges the historic significance of this class of first-year administrators and celebrates their commitment to excellence in leadership.

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to The Commonwealth Association of School Administrators, further evidencing the sincere admiration and respect of this legislative body.
