Title
Amending Title 12 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled “Traffic Code,” to designate East Memorial Hall Drive and West Memorial Hall Drive in Fairmount Park as one-way streets, under certain terms and conditions and authorize and/or empower the Department of Streets for the City of Philadelphia to take any and all necessary actions to enforce this Ordinance pursuant to Chapter 12-600 of The Philadelphia Code.

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Title 12 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
TITLE 12. TRAFFIC CODE

CHAPTER 12-600. ONE-WAY STREETS, TURNING RESTRICTIONS, AND CROSSWALKS

§ 12-602. Operation on One-Way Streets.

(___) The following streets within Fairmount Park, in the area under the jurisdiction of the Department of Parks and Recreation, are hereby designated as one-way streets with vehicular traffic permitted only in the direction indicated:
(.a) East Memorial Hall Drive, northbound, from Avenue of the Republic to Parkside Avenue.
(.b) West Memorial Hall Drive, southbound, from Avenue of the Republic to Parkside Avenue.

SECTION 2. Title 12 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby further amended to read as follows:

CHAPTER 12-900. PARKING REGULATIONS AND PENALTIES

(___) Parallel parking is hereby authorized on both sides of the following streets within the limits indicated:
(.a) East Memorial Hall Drive, both sides, from Avenue of the Republic to Parkside Avenue.
(.b) West Memorial Hall Drive, both sides, from Avenue of the Republic to Parkside Avenue.

SECTION 3.
The Department of Streets and the Department of Parks and Recreation for the City of Philadelphia are hereby authorized and directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs, markings, and other traffic control devices to give notice consistent with the designations established by this Ordinance.
SECTION 4.
This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days from and after the date of its enactment, the public welfare requiring it.
