WHEREAS, We On A Mission is a grassroots community organization based in Philadelphia that is dedicated to serving marginalized populations through direct outreach, empowerment, and advocacy; and

 

WHEREAS, We On A Mission exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose, compassion, and accountability, actively working to bridge gaps in access to essential resources for the City’s most vulnerable residents; and

 

WHEREAS, In alignment with their mission of community care, We On A Mission organized the 11th Annual Philadelphia Midnight Run on July 19, 2025, a powerful initiative rooted in mutual aid that brings food, clothing, hygiene products, and dignity to unhoused and underserved individuals on the streets of Philadelphia; and

 

WHEREAS, This year, the Midnight Run teamed up with the runners, the walkers, the fitness pros, and the movement-makers who keep this City alive with energy and purpose; and

 

WHEREAS, Participants joined under the stars for an unforgettable night of motion, music, and momentum, meeting at Lloyd Hall Recreation Center and hitting the pavement together for an electric City experience that blends fitness with solidarity and service; and

 

WHEREAS, Whether a marathon veteran, jogger, power walker, or someone lacing up for the first time, this run welcomes all, calling on the community to bring their energy, their crew, and their love for movement in support of a deeper cause; and

 

WHEREAS, The Midnight Run is more than a charitable act, it is a movement born from the community, by the community, and for the community, aiming to meet immediate needs while challenging the systemic injustices that perpetuate poverty and homelessness; and

 

WHEREAS, Those who participate in the Philadelphia Midnight Run embody a spirit of solidarity and commitment, showing up weekly to build trust, foster connection, and uplift lives, without expectation of recognition or reward; and

 

WHEREAS, The article “Midnight Run: A Movement Born from Community and Purpose”, published by Scoop Media, highlights the transformative impact of the Midnight Run and the leadership of We On A Mission, illuminating how grassroots action can become a model for urban compassion and resilience; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Herby honors and recognizes We On A Mission for their unwavering service, visionary leadership, and ongoing commitment to justice, and commend the Philadelphia Midnight Run as a vital act of community care, solidarity, and hope.

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this Resolution be presented to We On A Mission as a reminder that movement, when powered by purpose, can transform lives and cities alike
