WHEREAS, Cynthia Kishinchand, the tireless coordinator of East Falls Tree Tenders (EFTT) since 1996, has been a guiding force in Philadelphia's urban greening efforts, embodying a steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship and community empowerment; and

 

WHEREAS, Cynthia's visionary leadership has propelled EFTT to plant nearly 1,000 trees across East Falls, transforming streets and public spaces into verdant havens while leaving an enduring green legacy for generations to come; and

 

WHEREAS, Cynthia's dedication extends far beyond tree planting, as she has tirelessly championed environmental education initiatives, engaging the youth of East Falls and fostering a profound appreciation for nature, ensuring that the torch of environmental stewardship is passed on to future generations; and

 

WHEREAS, Cynthia's annual Arbor Day celebrations, a cornerstone of EFTT's outreach efforts, serve as a testament to her unwavering commitment to community engagement and environmental education, bringing together residents, elected officials, and hundreds of schoolchildren to celebrate the vital role of trees in our urban landscape; and

 

WHEREAS, Cynthia's leadership is characterized by empathy, inclusivity, and a deep-rooted passion for fostering sustainable communities, as evidenced by her efforts to extend tree-planting initiatives to underserved neighborhoods, recognizing the importance of equitable access to green spaces for all residents; and

 

WHEREAS, Cynthia's dedication to tree advocacy goes beyond planting, as she tirelessly advocates for policies that protect existing trees, promote community engagement, and prioritize tree maintenance, ensuring the long-term health and vitality of Philadelphia's urban forest; and

 

WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Philadelphia commends Cynthia Kishinchand for her exemplary leadership, unwavering dedication, and transformative impact on Philadelphia's urban landscape through her stewardship of East Falls Tree Tenders and recognizing her as a beacon of environmental stewardship and community empowerment; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby honors Cynthia Kishinchand as a Champion of Urban Greening and Community Empowerment for her leadership of the East Falls Tree Tenders.

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this Resolution be presented to Cynthia Kishinchand as a sign of the admiration and respect of this legislative body.
