The Council of the City of Philadelphia is pleased and proud to join the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation, as well as military, civilian, city governmental officials, and employees and citizens throughout the region, in tribute to Dennis J. Palladino.
WHEREAS, Mr. Palladino has served his nation and the City of Philadelphia well in his 35 year career in the Federal Government.
WHEREAS, From 1993-1999, Mr. Palladino served as the base transition coordinator for the Defense Supply Center-Philadelphia (DSCP), and was the primary liaison between the Department of Defense and the City.
WHEREAS, Mr. Palladino was rightly and formally recognized by the Secretary of Defense and the Mayor of the City for his outstanding work. His considerable accomplishments include oversight of the environmental remediation process and transfer of the DSCP site to the City. Mr. Palladino’s dedicated efforts also promoted the conversion of this facility to private commercial reuse, resulting in substantial economic growth and job creation for the City.
WHEREAS, Mr. Palladino worked diligently to promote the retention of the DSCP workforce and to support the successful relocation of the employees and mission of DSCP to the Naval Support Activity (NSA) – Philadelphia. In this new leadership capacity, Mr. Palladino was responsible for all aspects of facilities management, which is critical to ensuring that the mission requirements of DSCP are met.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor and commend Mr. Dennis J. Palladino for his years of dedicated service to both his country and the City of Philadelphia. We extend our sincere appreciation for his instrumental role in supporting the National Defense, retaining thousands of jobs in the City as well as promoting the successful private sector conversion of the Defense Supply Center-Philadelphia.
FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Dennis J. Palladino as evidence of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.
