Amending Section A-301, entitled “Application for Permit” and Section A-302 entitled “Permits” of Chapter 3 entitled “Permits” of Subcode “A”, entitled “The Philadelphia Administrative Code,” of Title 4 of The Philadelphia Code by requiring that applications for permits and the permits themselves contain information relating to property and causality insurance policies and that said permits must be posted in a conspicuous place which can be readily observed by passersby at or near the entrance to the structure ; all under certain terms and conditions.

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

 

                     SECTION 1.  Section A-301 entitled “Application for Permit” of Chapter 3 of Subcode “A”, entitled “The Philadelphia Administrative Code” of Title 4 of the Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

SECTION A-301   APPLICATION FOR PERMIT.

A-301.5   Contents of application: Every permit application shall, to the extent applicable:

                     9.                     Provide the name, address and phone number of any insurance carrier providing property and/or causality insurance coverage for the property, along with the policy number of each insurance policy.

                     SECTION 2.  Section A-302 entitled “Permits” of Chapter 3 of Subcode “A”, entitled “The Philadelphia Administrative Code” of Title 4 of the Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

 

SECTION A-302   PERMITS.

 

A-302.1   Action on application: The Department shall examine or cause to be examined all applications for permits and amendments thereto. If the application or the construction documents do not conform to the requirements of all pertinent laws, the code official shall reject such application in writing, stating the reasons therefor. If the code official is satisfied that the proposed work conforms to the requirements of this code and the technical codes and all laws and ordinances applicable thereto, the code official shall issue a permit therefor as soon as practicable upon payment of requisite fees. Each permit shall include the name, address and phone number of any insurance carrier providing property and/or causality insurance coverage for the property, along with the policy number of each insurance policy.

A-302.8   Posting of permits and licenses: Permits and licenses shall be kept on the premises designated therein at all times and shall be readily available for inspection by the code official. A true copy of permits authorizing construction activity shall be posted on the site of the operations, open to public inspection during the entire time of the prosecution of the work for which the permit has been issued. The owner of the premises shall prominently post the permit in a conspicuous place which can be readily observed by passersby at or near the entrance to the structure for which the permit has been obtained.

 

Exception: Housing inspection license, where there is no on-premises management office.

 

A-302.9   Revocation of permit: The code official is authorized to revoke a permit or approval issued pursuant to the provisions of this code and the technical codes in case of any of the following:

                     7.                     The permit was not posted in a conspicuous place which can be readily observed by passersby at or near the entrance to the structure for which the permit has been obtained.

 

                     SECTION 3. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately.
