Honoring and congratulating Max Kent on the occasion of his retirement from NewCourtland and recognizing his decades of dedicated leadership in the United States Army, healthcare administration, community service, and support of Philadelphia’s seniors and those who are underserved

 

Body

WHEREAS, Max Kent has devoted a distinguished career to advancing the health, housing, and wellbeing of older adults and underserved populations, bringing exceptional expertise in healthcare administration, project management, and organizational leadership; and

 

WHEREAS, During his tenure with NewCourtland, Max Kent was responsible for planning and overseeing new development and major capital projects, guiding complex initiatives through careful project management and strategic planning to ensure projects met their purpose, goals, and community needs; and

 

WHEREAS, His commitment to community engagement has extended beyond healthcare administration, including consecutive terms as Chairman of the El Paso Hospital Council and service as liaison between Beaumont Army Medical Center and the El Paso Medical Society, where he fostered collaboration and improved communication among healthcare providers; and

 

WHEREAS, Max Kent also demonstrated compassion and civic dedication by helping organize sponsorship activities that sustained a local, privately held Christian-sponsored orphanage, reflecting a lifelong commitment to service and humanitarian values; and

 

WHEREAS, Prior to his civilian career, Max Kent honorably served the United States for twenty years as a highly decorated officer in the United States Army, culminating as a logistics operations executive for an Armored Cavalry Regiment, earning numerous commendations for achievement and excellence; and

 

WHEREAS, Through his work with NewCourtland, Max Kent contributed to an organization whose mission is rooted in a 150-year legacy of improving the lives of Philadelphia’s underserved populations by integrating housing, healthcare, and social services in community-based settings that promote wellness, preventive health management, and thriving neighborhoods; and

 

WHEREAS, Max Kent’s leadership and dedication have helped strengthen NewCourtland’s ability to develop vibrant communities and provide compassionate services to older adults throughout Philadelphia; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby honors and congratulates Max Kent on the occasion of his retirement from NewCourtland Elder Services and recognizes his exemplary career of service to healthcare, community development, and the residents of Philadelphia; and

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this Resolution be presented to Max Kent as evidence of the sincere admiration and gratitude of the Council of the City of Philadelphia.
