Supporting members of the Pennsylvania State Legislature's Women's Health Caucus and the Pennsylvania Agenda for Women's Health.

WHEREAS, Representative Dan Frankel and Senators. Judy Schwank and Chuck McIlhinney presented seven pieces of legislation that represent a genuine cross-section of issues and concerns facing women today. By addressing these issues, we can help women in the Commonwealth live longer, healthier lives; and
WHEREAS, House Bill 1890 would clarify and update the legal standards for pay-equity lawsuits in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, House Bill 1891 would create 15-foot buffer zones around health care facilities where picketing, patrolling or demonstrating that blocks patients' access to the facilities would be banned; and
WHEREAS, House Bill 1892 would require a covered employer to make reasonable accommodations related to pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, House Bill 1895 would require employers to provide a private, sanitary space for employees who need to express breast milk in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, House Bill 1900 would allow women between ages of 30 and 65 to qualify for the state Healthy Woman Program if they meet all other applicable requirements in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, House Bill 1901 would ban publishing any photo or video identifying another person, who is naked or engaging in a sexual act, without that person's consent in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 1167 would ban publishing any photo or video identifying another person, who is naked or engaging in a sexual act, without that person's consent; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby support members of the Pennsylvania state legislature's Women's Health Caucus and their Pennsylvania Agenda for Women's Health and call for the passage of House Bills 1890, 1892, 1895, 1900, 1901 and Senate Bill 1167, which protect the integrity of women and promote the advancement of women in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Chief Clerk shall forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Majority Leader and Minority Leader of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, the Majority and Minority Chairs of the Pennsylvania Committee on State Government and to all members of the House delegation representing the City of Philadelphia as evidence of this Council's support of this legislation.
