Honoring and recognizing Jeremiah Roach, Dylan Adkins, Aidan Marion, Khalif Barakat-Cooper, and Marquise Floyd-Reid for their outstanding academic achievement in earning associate degrees prior to graduating from high school, and further recognizing Boys’ Latin of Philadelphia Charter School, Principal Robert L. Parker III, CEO Dr. William Hayes, and Zachary Paris, Director of Early College and Career Programming, for their leadership and commitment to student success.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Boys’ Latin of Philadelphia Charter School, located in the City of Philadelphia, has demonstrated a strong commitment to preparing young men for success through rigorous academic programming, leadership development, and a focus on college and career readiness; and

 

WHEREAS, Through its Early College and Career Programming, Boys’ Latin has created a pathway for students to earn college credits and degrees while still enrolled in high school, expanding access to higher education and reducing barriers for young people across the City; and

 

WHEREAS, Out of approximately forty students participating in this program, five young men, Jeremiah Roach, Dylan Adkins, Aidan Marion, Khalif Barakat-Cooper, and Marquise Floyd-Reid, have distinguished themselves by earning their associate degrees prior to receiving their high school diplomas, a significant academic accomplishment that reflects discipline, focus, and perseverance; and

 

WHEREAS, This achievement not only represents individual excellence, but also serves as a model for what is possible when schools, educators, and students are aligned to high expectations and meaningful opportunities; and

 

WHEREAS, The leadership of Principal Robert L. Parker III, CEO Dr. William Hayes, and Zachary Paris, Director of Early College and Career Programming, has been instrumental in developing and sustaining a program that is producing real outcomes for young men in the City of Philadelphia; and

 

WHEREAS, The success of these students brings pride to their families, their school, and their community, and stands as an example to other young people across the City of Philadelphia; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby honors and recognizes Jeremiah Roach, Dylan Adkins, Aidan Marion, Khalif Barakat-Cooper, and Marquise Floyd-Reid for their exceptional academic achievement and determination in earning associate degrees prior to high school graduation.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That it also recognizes Boys’ Latin of Philadelphia Charter School, Principal Robert L. Parker III, CEO Dr. William Hayes, and Zachary Paris, Director of Early College and Career Programming, for their leadership, vision, and continued commitment to creating opportunities that empower students to succeed.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That an Engrossed copy of this Resolution be presented to Boys’ Latin of Philadelphia Charter School and the honored students as an expression of the sincere admiration and appreciation of the Council of the City of Philadelphia.
