Recognizing June 4 through June 9, 2018 as Philly Real Estate Week in the City of Philadelphia and Celebrating Its Founder Nicole Purvy.

WHEREAS, The first annual Philly Real Estate Week (“PREW”) will launch on June 4th, 2018 in the City of Philadelphia. Philly Real Estate Week is a celebration dedicated to providing useful knowledge on real estate in order to foster growth and provide educational training. The week will feature a wide range of information to attendees, with workshops focusing on urban planning, homeownership, residential and commercial investing and more; and
WHEREAS, PREW will host a forum on the Philadelphia City Planning Commission on Monday, June 4th for a session on its Philadelphia2035 Vision and Comprehensive Plan, hosted by Arthur Lyons. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about implementation projects in South, West, Southwest, Center City, Northeast, and Northwest Philadelphia, as well as the Citizens Planning Institute; and
WHEREAS, PREW will host two sessions on homebuying on Tuesday, June 5th, entitled 5 Steps to Buying Your Dream Home and Homebuyer Information Bazaar. The first session will feature panelists Edward Bonnano, Simone Cartwright, Lee Plummer, Seth Floyd, Maggie Bermudez, Traci Powell and Jennifer Hightower and will focus on actionable steps attendees can take to purchase their first home. The second session allows attendees to network with real estate professionals from across the region; and
WHEREAS, PREW will offer a Women in Real Estate discussion on Wednesday, June 6th, featuring panelists Jasmine Williams, Raffaellina Merlino, Simone Cartwright and Attiyah Blair. The panel will be followed by a speed dating event for networking and relationship building. Later in the day, PREW will host keynote speaker Ken Weinstein, owner of numerous Philadelphia restaurants and former Board President of the Philadelphia Housing Development Corporation; and
WHEREAS, PREW will sponsor the Philly Wealth Builders Summit on Thursday, June 7th. The event will showcase a panel of the City’s most successful residential and commercial investors including Michael Earley and Rodney Ross, with all proceeds benefiting the Nicetown Community Development Corporation; and
WHEREAS, PREW will launch its 2nd Annual Wholesalers & Realtors Bootcamp on Friday, June 8th. This capstone event is a one-day intensive learning experience designed to give in-depth instructions on how to become successful at the art of brokering real estate deals, featuring keynote speaker Bart Blatstein; and
WHEREAS, Philly Real Estate Week has been organized by entrepreneur, author, real estate investor, and podcaster Nicole Purvy, the founder of Better Than Success. Better Than Success is a media company whose purpose is to provide education, information, news, and entertainment to entrepreneurs. According to Ms. Purvy, Philly Real Estate Week will be “a celebration of all things real estate” and an opportunity to connect investors and every day Philadelphians; and
WHEREAS, Nicole Purvy’s career includes several noteworthy accomplishments. She has written and published a critically-acclaimed book “The AntiHustle: Start a Six Figure Business in One Year”, and her Better Than Success podcast was named one of the best podcasts for entrepreneurs by Entrepreneur Magazine. Prior to her career in entrepreneurship and investing, Purvy had a successful career on Wall Street and in the finance industry; and
WHEREAS, Nicole Purvy is the leader of the Better Than Success Real Estate League, one of the fastest growing real estate clubs in Philadelphia. RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby recognize June 4 through June 9, 2018 as Philly Real Estate Week in the City of Philadelphia and celebrate its founder Nicole Purvy.
