WHEREAS, GQ Aviation, founded by Faisal Husein of North Philadelphia, was established at the Philadelphia Northeast Airport (PNE) in September 2015 with the mission of training students in the flight proficiencies needed to obtain a pilot license, and.
WHEREAS, As the aviation industry has seen a downward trend in the amount of newly licensed pilots joining commercial aviation companies, GQ Aviation has set out to identify individuals in the region with a passion for piloting in order to address this issue, and
WHEREAS, As the only minority-owned private flight school in the Northeast corridor, GQ Aviation has brought in over 50 students for months-long training to procure the necessary 65 hours of flight time to be eligible for a pilot license, and
WHEREAS, GQ Aviation is proud to tout a 100% student passage rate and its commitment to technical competency and safety since its establishment, and
WHEREAS, In addition to its efforts on the tarmac, GQ Aviation has engaged with the Northeast Philadelphia community to raise awareness of the benefits to flight school and the aviation industry as a profession, and
WHEREAS, GQ Aviation’s founder, Faisal Husein, has also served as a pilot for commercial airliners Mesa and JetBlue flying various routes both domestic and international. Faisal has led GQ Aviation as a true student of the aviation industry with an uncanny ability to simplify and convey the complexities of flying aircraft to his students, and
WHEREAS, GQ Aviation has exemplified the growth of the Northeast Philadelphia economy and the opportunities available to the residents of its various communities; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of Philadelphia, That GQ Aviation is hereby honored and congratulated on its decade of service at the Philadelphia Northeast airport and recognized for its exceptional leadership in the Northeast Philadelphia community and aviation industry at-large.
