WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake has distinguished herself as a trailblazing leader and dedicated public servant whose career has been defined by her steadfast commitment to advancing the needs of the City of Philadelphia and improving the lives of those she serves; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake has served as President of the Independence Blue Cross Foundation ("Foundation"), where she has led strategic, programmatic, and operational efforts to advance the Foundation's mission to lead sustainable solutions that improve the health and wellness of communities in Philadelphia; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake has overseen $115 million in grantmaking while leading the Foundation and has distinguished herself as a collaborator, innovator, convener of diverse organizations, and thoughtful leader in addressing emerging health needs; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake has devoted her time to her church and community through serving as an associate minister at Vine Memorial Baptist Church and through her active involvement in more than thirty professional and civic organizations, including serving as the 28th President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Omega Omega Chapter; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake has been recognized for her exemplary leadership and service by diverse organizations such as the NAACP, the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, and the Philadelphia Tribune; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake has been the recipient of many prestigious awards and honors, including the 2025 Philadelphia Region's Leaders Award from The Philadelphia Tribune, and the Health Care Innovator Award from the Philadelphia Business Journal; and
