WHEREAS, May is Public Service Month in the City of Philadelphia, and the workers who keep Philadelphia operating deserve recognition; and

WHEREAS, Zelma Carroll is a Certified Nursing Assistant in a West Philadelphia nursing home. She has selflessly devoted her 20-plus-year career in healthcare to helping others. Zelma is a member of SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania, a union representing healthcare professionals in the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, Even before the legislation has been enacted, Zelma has been enforcing the new staffing ratios to ensure every patient gets the devoted attention they need to stay healthy; and

WHEREAS, Outside of work, Zelma is a community leader, aiding in increasing voter turnout in not just her ward, but others as well; and

WHEREAS, Darlene Booker-Jones works in the City of Philadelphia Department of Revenue; and

WHEREAS, Darlene has been a steadfast advocate for her union, District Council 33 Local 696. In her time with DC33, she has helped produce Labor Day Parades, Rallies, Labor Note Workshops, has been the Chair and Co-Chair of Election Committees and Grievance Committees. Her dedication to advocating for her fellow DC33 members is noble and should be recognized; and

WHEREAS, Cheryl Colubriale is a school crossing guard for the past 18 years. Day in and day out, Cheryl helps future generations of Philadelphians get to school safely and on time; and

WHEREAS, Cheryl has been an ardent and visible union leader; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Jones, also a school crossing guard, has been serving her community for the past 15 years; and

WHEREAS, Outside of work, she helps students daily with their homework at a local Police Athletic League of Philadelphia center; and
