WHEREAS The Council of the City of Philadelphia is pleased and proud to honor and congratulate the Philadelphia Soccer Club 05 Coppa Rage Girls Soccer Team on their successful 2021-22 season and winning the US Youth Soccer U17 Girls' National Championship; and

WHEREAS, Philadelphia Soccer Club 05 Coppa Rage Girls Soccer Team won the US Youth Soccer U17 Girls National Championship on July 24, 2022, against Tonka United Fusion Elite from Minnesota; and

WHEREAS, Philadelphia Soccer Club 05 Coppa Rage Girls Soccer Team won by a score of 5-0; and

WHEREAS, The game started off with Emma Levin putting Philadelphia Soccer Club 05 Coppa Rage Girls Soccer Team in the lead 1-0 35 seconds into the Championship game and set the tone for the rest of the game. Taylor Mays doubled the score 15 minutes later holding off 2 defenders and firing the ball into the net. Gianna Rivera added the 3rd goal of the first half at the 28 minute mark to make the score 3-0 at the half. Gianna then added another goal at the 76th minute and Maura Day completed the scoring to make the final score 5-0; and

WHEREAS, The team was determined to avenge their 2021 National Championship Game loss and lift the National Championship Trophy; and

WHEREAS, The team was led to success by Head Coach Tom DeGeorge and Assistant Coach Jonathan Geist who did a masterful job preparing the girls for their National Championship run; and

WHEREAS, With Coach DeGeorge's guidance, the team went on to win Philadelphia Soccer Club's first US Youth Soccer National Championship title after winning three consecutive Eastern State Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association's State Cup Championships; and

WHEREAS, This win was also the first ever US Youth Soccer National Championship by a girls' team from the City of Philadelphia and the first National Championship by any Philadelphia team since 1967; now, therefore, be it
