THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
 
SECTION 1.      Chapter 20-1000, entitled “Campaign Contributions and Expenditures” is hereby amended as follows:

§20-1001.  Definitions.

(7)      Candidate.  Any individual that files nomination papers or petitions, publicly announces their candidacy, or is a candidate as defined by Pennsylvania or federal law, for Mayor, District Attorney, City Controller, Register of Wills, Sheriff, Clerk of Quarter Sessions Court, or City Council.

SECTION 2.      Effective date.  This Ordinance shall be effective immediately.
 
SECTION 3.      If any provision of this Ordinance, or the application of such provision to any person or circumstance, shall be held invalid, the remainder of the Ordinance, and application of such provision to individuals or circumstances other than those as to which it is held invalid, shall not be affected thereby.
