THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
 
 
SECTION 1.  Title 14 of The Philadelphia Code is amended to read as follows:
 
TITLE 14.  THE PHILADELPHIA ZONING CODE.

CHAPTER 14-200. RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS.

§14-231.  Residential Districts Rules and Exceptions.

      (4) Fences.  Fences shall be permitted in residential districts to the extent herein provided:
 
            (a)      Intermediate Lots.
 
      (.1)       Front.  Any fence located nearer to the lot line than the required building set-back or actual distance of the building from the lot line (whichever is greater), shall be no more than [three and one-half ]  four (4) feet in height;

            (d)      Architectural Features.
 
Fence posts, gate posts, and trellises that are included as architectural embellishments are permitted up to 8 feet in height.
