WHEREAS, A proud product of Philadelphia, Sereena Quick grew up in Raymond Rosen Homes, a North Philadelphia housing community and attended the West Chester University. Throughout her life, she learned the importance of staying resilient and keeping positive no matter the circumstances; and

WHEREAS, Sereena Quick began her career in the criminal justice system, as a juvenile probation officer for the City, making a positive impact on the lives of young people. She went on to become a federal probation officer for the District of San Francisco. These occupations allowed her to hone her leadership and problem-solving skills; and

WHEREAS, After crossing paths with Jon Hooper, the Operator of Chick-fil-A Auto Mall Parkway in Fremont, California, Sereena became inspired by his entrepreneurial passion and drive; and

WHEREAS, On top of her duties as a federal probation officer, she became Jon's mentee, working in the restaurant and absorbing as much business knowledge as she could; and

WHEREAS, Upon relocating back to Philadelphia, Sereena was able to shadow another Black businessman, Stanley Webster, the Operator of Chick-fil-A Liberty Place. Stanley helped to give Sereena the courage and confidence to take the leap and become a trailblazer in the Philadelphia quick-service market; and

WHEREAS, After spending three years in the Malvern Chick-fil-A community as the restaurant's Executive Director, Sereena was selected to be Operator of a new location in West Philadelphia, making her the first Black woman to own a Chick-fil-A in Pennsylvania; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby celebrate, honor, and recognize Sereena Quick on being selected as the Operator of the new 4040 City Ave Chick-fil-A.
