Honoring and congratulating the 2026 Frankford High School Pioneers Baseball team on winning the 5A City Championship and celebrating their outstanding academic and athletic achievements.

WHEREAS, On May 28th, 2026, the Frankford High School Pioneers Baseball team won the 5A City Championship by defeating Roman Catholic by a score of 8-7; a victory that allows this team to join only two other squads in the entire history of Frankford High School as City Champions; and

WHEREAS, As they have done all season, the team found success by working together and supporting each other, proving that their journey to success on the baseball field starts with success in the classroom; and

WHEREAS, Over 80% of this year's team had the distinction of earning Honor Roll, which is a testament to the value that Coach Namnun places on academics. The members of the team are also regarded as the pillars of Frankford High School by staff and faculty alike for their leadership throughout the school; and

WHEREAS, The team was led by two players who were recognized by the Philadelphia Baseball Coaches Association for their outstanding seasons and City Championship game performances: Reynaldo De Los Santos, who was recognized as MVP of the league, and Railyn Rodriguez, who was honored with the distinction of Pitcher of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Coach Juan Namnun has been the leader of the baseball program for 18 seasons, after serving as an assistant for 8 seasons, and previously attended and played at Frankford High School from 1992 to 1995; and

WHEREAS, Under his leadership, his teams have shattered long-standing records, winning 2 of those 3 City Championships to go along with his record-setting 7 Public League Championships, earning him the recognition of Philadelphia Baseball Coach of the Year 12 times by the Times News Group, Philadelphia Coaches Association, and other publications; now, therefore, be it
