WHEREAS, Anton K. Moore was born and raised in the City of Philadelphia in the Tasker Homes Housing Development; and
WHEREAS, Moore's music career began at the age of 16 as an intern then later became a staff member at Power 99 FM; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure at Power 99 FM, Moore contributed to major events such as the 2004 Unity Day Celebration, Powerhouse and numerous other community events, earning a reputation for an exceptional work ethic among senior staff; and
WHEREAS, Moore's accomplishments at Power 99 FM garnered national attention, leading to his feature in Verizon's "Realize" campaign, an initiative spotlighting ambitious young adults in the music industry. focused on young adults aspiring to have successful careers in the music industry. His image, with the caption "Intern Today, Icon Tomorrow" was displayed on billboards in Philadelphia and Washington DC; and
WHEREAS, Moore continued his ascent in the media industry with an internship with Black Entertainment Television (BET) in New York City, eventually becoming a Production Assistant for the iconic show Rap City. He went on to coordinate various BET programs including the BET Awards, 106 & Park, Spring Bling, Rip the Runway and served as a founding producer of The Deal in 2010; and
WHEREAS, Despite his career achievements, Moore remained committed to his South Philly roots. Since 2008, he has hosted an annual Peace Week and community block party, offering giveaways and welcoming prominent celebrities such as Jasmine Sullivan, Meek Mill, Angela Simmons, Lil Mama and others to perform; and
WHEREAS, Anton Moore is the founder and President of his Unity in the Community, a South Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization that hosts a wide array of community events, including coat and prom drives, communit...
