WHEREAS, In 1992, Sharon Pinkenson became the Executive Director of the Greater Philadelphia Film Office, where she markets Philadelphia and its surrounding area to the film, video, and television industry; coordinates day-to-day production and location details; ensures the hiring of local cast and crew while directing local goods and services to productions; develops financial incentives; enhances the region's reputation internationally; publishes the "Greater Philadelphia Film and Video Guide"; produces the popular website www.film.org; and advocates for the growth of Philadelphia's indigenous film community through the Greater Philadelphia Filmmakers Program; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Pinkenson's efforts have been extremely successful, resulting in thousands of new jobs and bringing over 3.5 billion dollars of economic impact to the Philadelphia area during the past 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Highlights of Sharon Pinkenson's career have included the films "Philadelphia," "12 Monkeys," "Beloved," "The Sixth Sense," "The Village," "The Happening," "The Age of Innocence," "Fallen," "Se7en," "Signs," "Invincible," "Rocky Balboa," "Live Free Or Die," "Independence Day," "Shooter," "Transformer: Revenge of the Fallen;" "Marley and Me;" "The Last Airbender," "Law Abiding Citizen;" and "The Lovely Bones;" as well as the television series "Cold Case," "Fringe," "American Idol," "Hack," and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"; and

WHEREAS, Having graduated from Philadelphia High School for Girls and Temple University, Sharon Pinkenson is a local celebrity who has, herself, brought a bit of Hollywood to Philadelphia through her iconic presence in our City; is nicknamed "Pinky;" and is easily-recognizable by her ebullient personality and trademark mane of blond curls; serves on numerous cultural boar...
