Title
Amending Title 12 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Traffic Code," to add provisions related to vehicle parking in front of a fire hydrant, to provide for the removal or immobilization of such vehicles and for other penalties, and to make related technical changes, all under certain terms and conditions.

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Title 12 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

(1) Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or to protect the safety of any person or vehicle or in compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or official traffic-control device, no person shall:

(b) Stand or park a vehicle:

(.8) With any portion of the vehicle in front of a fire hydrant

CHAPTER 12-2400. TOWING AND IMMOBILIZATION OF PARKED OR ABANDONED VEHCILES

(1) Any vehicle may be removed, by means of towing to the nearest Official Towing Station or immobilized for up to seventy-two (72) hours by means of applying a boot and then towed to the nearest Official Towing Station if not reclaimed, by or under the direction of a member of the Department, or its designated agent whenever any vehicle is:

(p) parked in violation of 12-913(1)(b)(.8), relating to parking in front of a fire hydrant;
