THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
 
SECTION 1.  The Commissioner of Public Property is hereby authorized on behalf of the City to acquire, for nominal consideration and in such number of transactions as necessary, (a) approximately 11.5 acres of land located generally along the east bank of the Schuylkill River, between Sears Street (as extended westward to the Schuylkill River) and South 34th Street, including land generally underneath the eastern end of Grays Ferry Bridge; and (b) any interests in railroad beds on the southern side of Grays Ferry Avenue, between the eastern end of the Grays Ferry Bridge and South 34th Street.
 
SECTION 2.  The City Solicitor is hereby authorized to review and to approve all documents and agreements necessary to effectuate this Ordinance, and to impose such terms and conditions on them as the City Solicitor may deem necessary and proper to protect the interests of the City of Philadelphia and to carry out the purpose of this Ordinance.
