Also renaming the corner of E. Collom Street and Wakefield Street "Herbert 'Drum' Burch Way," to honor and recognize the life, service, and enduring legacy of Herbert "Drum" Burch, a devoted community activist, veteran, healthcare professional, and political leader in the City of Philadelphia.

WHEREAS, Herbert "Drum" Burch, lovingly known as "Uncle Drum" and "Brick," passed on September 6, 2024, leaving a lasting legacy as a devoted father, grandfather, veteran, nurse, mentor, and community leader; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Edison High School in Philadelphia, he earned a nursing degree and went on to serve patients across several hospitals, including Episcopal, Einstein, Temple, Parkview, and Roxborough, before continuing his care through private home services until his retirement in 2020; and
WHEREAS, He honorably served over 20 years in the United States Marine Corps as a jet engine mechanic, reflecting his deep commitment to country and discipline; and
WHEREAS, Deeply rooted in the Germantown community, he brought people together through Unity Days, Father's Day cookouts, holiday toy and bike drives, and food distributions, while advocating for safer neighborhoods and expanded opportunity; and
WHEREAS, Known for his generosity and spirit, he personally gave his time and resources to uplift others, often serving as Santa Claus and ensuring families in his community felt seen and supported; and
WHEREAS, A dedicated member and leader of the Cycle Kings Philadelphia Chapter for over 25 years, he embodied loyalty, brotherhood, and service in all aspects of his life; and
WHEREAS, His legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, extended family, and the many lives he touched throughout Philadelphia; and
WHEREAS, It is fitting that the City of Philadelphia honor his enduring impact by renaming the corner of E. Collom Street and Wakefield Street "Herbert 'Drum' Burch Way;" now, therefore, be it
