Recognizing, Congratulating, and Honoring the outstanding season of the Frankford High School's Pioneers Baseball Team and their continued dedication to academics and the community.

WHEREAS, The Frankford High School's Pioneers Baseball Team has not only demonstrated dedication on the field, as they had an outstanding season which led them to the playoffs, but also off the field as they coordinated fundraisers throughout the year; and
WHEREAS, Every year the team travels to Orlando, Florida to practice and compete in order to improve their skills prior to the season. To travel with the team the players must have exemplary grades and attendance to match, which is the top priority for Coach Juan Namnun; and
WHEREAS, Along with many fundraising efforts to help cover the Florida trip, Coach Namnun has stressed the importance of giving back to their community. The Frankford High School Pioneers have collaborated with the Philadelphia Phillies to run a charity baseball clinic for inner-city children. The Philadelphia Phillies provide the venue and equipment, while Coach Namnun and his team work with the children on hand skill development; and
WHEREAS, The Frankford High School Pioneers began fundraising for the trip to Florida in early September and every other Wednesday the players sold pretzels to their fellow peers. They formed small groups of "cashiers", "food handlers", and "promoters". This not only helped them raise money, but also taught them life lessons as they interacted with others, handled the intake of money, advocated and marketed for their team and their goals. The boys knew that in order to raise the $11,000, every single one of them had to give full effort in order to earn their trip; and
WHEREAS, The Frankford High School's Pioneer Baseball Team led by five seniors; Edgardo Bernard, Bayovanet Ortiz, Jose Romero, Weslly Delgado, and Xavier Sanchez reached their goal in order to go on the trip to Orlando, which helped t...
