Commemorating and Celebrating The First All-Army Reunion being held on June 15th, 2013, under the leadership of the Philadelphia Veterans Comfort House.

WHEREAS, The Army was established on June 14, 1775, in Philadelphia, by the Continental Congress as a unified army to fight Great Britain, with George Washington appointed as its commander; and
WHEREAS, The Philadelphia Veterans Comfort House has taken the leadership to hold The First All-Army Reunion for all United States Army Veterans in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, on Saturday, June 15th, 2013, at Clark Park in West Philadelphia, from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, The First All-Army Reunion will emphasize United States Army traditions, history, and legacy, and feature D-Day Veterans as guests of honor; and
WHEREAS, The Reunion will give hundreds of veterans and service members a chance to reconnect, share experiences, and strengthen their ties to their service branch; and
WHEREAS, There will be delicious food in abundance, live music, celebrity emcees, information tables of veteran-related and community groups, a legacy tent, a silent auction, event merchandise, and other event activities; and
WHEREAS, There will also be friendly armed service branches competitive activities such as a "Sink the Navy" dunking booth, an Army versus Air Force hot dog-eating contest, an Army versus Navy obstacle course, and a drone flying contest; and
WHEREAS, The City of Philadelphia is grateful to its veterans and active service members who put their lives at risk to protect our freedoms, rights, and way-of-life; and
WHEREAS, The City of Philadelphia is also grateful for the leadership of the Philadelphia Veterans Comfort House, a non-profit organization that seeks to meet the needs of area veterans and provides a structured shelter to especially address the needs of homeless veterans; now, therefore, be it
