Also naming the 200 block of South Alden Street as “Dr. Wesley Proctor Way” to honor the life, leadership, and lasting contributions of Dr. Wesley T. Proctor to the Philadelphia community.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Dr. Wesley T. Proctor is a lifelong educator, community leader, youth mentor, and business advisor whose work has had a profound impact across Philadelphia, particularly in West and Southwest communities; and

 

WHEREAS, Born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia, Dr. Proctor is a proud graduate of Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania and has dedicated his life to uplifting others through education and service; and

 

WHEREAS, As Founder and CEO of Wesley Proctor Ministries, Inc., he has awarded more than $50,000 in book scholarships to Philadelphia high school seniors, supporting their transition to higher education; and

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Proctor has spent over two decades teaching nonprofit management and helping more than 1,000 organizations obtain 501(c)(3) status, strengthening community impact; and

 

WHEREAS, Through more than 20 years of service as Youth Pastor and Executive Administrator at Victory Christian Center Church, he has mentored and empowered young people across Philadelphia; and

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Proctor’s contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including the 2024 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award; and

 

WHEREAS, Also naming the 200 block of South Alden Street as “Dr. Wesley Proctor Way” would provide a lasting tribute to his leadership and ensure his legacy remains visible to future generations; and now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That the 200 block of South Alden Street also be named “Dr. Wesley Proctor Way” in honor of his life, service, and lasting impact on the Philadelphia community.
