WHEREAS, Myra Brown has made history and lasting impact as the first Black woman to serve as Board Chair of Women's Way, where she has been a transformative force in promoting gender equity, amplifying women's voices, and advocating for inclusive leadership; and

WHEREAS, Over her seven years on the Women's Way Board of Directors, including her historic tenure as Chair, Myra championed a bold vision of equity and inclusion. Under her guidance, the organization increased awareness of women's rights, civic engagement, and election issues, and implemented significant racial equity training, broadening its impact across communities and shaping a more just Philadelphia; and

WHEREAS, In addition to her civic leadership, Myra is the Chief Executive Officer and Owner of NWON Opportunities, LLC, a certified minority- and woman-owned business dedicated to work readiness, emotional support, coaching, industry training, and job placement. NWON strengthens both individuals and the workforce by bridging the gap between job seekers and businesses seeking skilled talent; and

WHEREAS, NWON Opportunities is also recognized as a nationally registered Department of Labor pre-apprenticeship program, where it delivers carpentry training to young adults, helping to build pathways into stable, skilled employment in the trades; and

WHEREAS, Myra is also the proud owner of Yelram Concepts and Construction, LLC, offering renovation and remodeling services for both residential and commercial clients, further demonstrating her entrepreneurial vision and leadership across industries; and
