Honoring and Celebrating the United Age Group Track Coaches Association and Director Ron Jackson for their 35 years of commitment in developing today's athletes into tomorrow's leaders by tirelessly working to provide quality, organized Track and Field programs for Philadelphia's youth.

WHEREAS, The United Age Group Track Coaches Association (UAGTCA) was founded in 1977 to develop young athletes through the sport of track and field and has served over 30,000 youth since its inception. The charter members are the Mallery Challengers Track Club, Oak Lane Youth Association, Philadelphia Express Track Club, Morris Estate Track Club, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Gazelle-Striders Track Club and the Mt. Airy Track Club. Each year it sponsors several Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Meets drawing more than 1,000 athletes to its developmental meets and attracting athletes from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and New York to compete on a weekly basis; and
WHEREAS, Athletics help youth develop important values such as teamwork, skill building and physical conditioning. Sports also have strong influences on inclusion and community building, character-building, delinquency and community safety; and
WHEREAS, For 40 years Ron Jackson, UAGTCA Director, has dedicated his spirit of volunteerism to coaching youth in the sports of baseball, girls basketball, football and track and field. In addition to working with the development of the athletes, Mr. Jackson provides financial assistance to those parents who were not in a position to bear the cost required to participate in the sport. To insure that no athlete was left behind, Mr. Jackson has purchased uniforms, spikes, dinners, and travel tickets to be sure that every member of his team is able to compete; and
