WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Philadelphia respectively joins with family and friends to honor the memory and celebrate the life of Barbara Daniel-Cox. On Sunday, April 24, 2016, God, in His infinite wisdom, took her from our midst; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Daniel-Cox, accomplished Development Consultant, Communications Professional, Event Planner, Producer, Executive, Manager, World Traveler, Lover of Arts & Culture, Community Activist, Women's Advocate, Civil Rights Advocate and Trainer, has been professionally employed with Mayor W. Wilson Goode Sr.'s Commission for Women, as Director of Hall-Mercer Mental Health Center's Consultation & Education Department, as a Human Relations Specialist with the School District of Philadelphia, and as Director of the Philadelphia Urban League and Philadelphia International Records' Clean Up The Ghetto Program. She also served as the National Director and Philadelphia Director of the National Council of Negro Women's Black Family Reunion Celebration; and

WHEREAS, As an Event Planner, Manager and Producer, Ms. Daniel-Cox has put together countless events for dozens of venerable institutions, including The Philadelphia Clef Club; Freedom Theatre; OIC of Philadelphia, America & International; Georgie Woods; the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission; Teddy Pendergrass; The Philadelphia Tribune; Cheyney University of Pennsylvania; and Beech Companies; and

WHEREAS, As a consultant, her clients have included PECO, Philadelphia International Records, the African American Museum in Philadelphia, ODUNDE, Inc., the Philadelphia Anti-Graffiti Network, the Multicultural Affairs Congress, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Philadelphia Housing Authority, Universal Companies, IAAAM, the Mann Center for the Performing Arts, and the School District of Philadelphia; and

WHEREAS, From 1976 until 1982, she worked as an Adjunct Professor at Antioc...
