Title
Honoring the Frankford High School Football Team on winning the Public League Championship.
Body
WHEREAS, The Frankford High School Football Team defeated George Washington 14-6 to win their first public league championship since 1997; and
 
WHEREAS, The victory avenged a loss to Washington in the 2000 title game and a loss last year that kept Frankford from the playoffs; and
 
WHEREAS, The victory ended Washington's chance for a third consecutive Public League Title; and
 
WHEREAS, The game date was changed twice; once for snow and once to move the game to the weekend to allow for more fans; and
 
WHEREAS, Freshman Running Back Brandon Norris ran for a 48 yard touchdown in the first quarter to give Frankford the lead; and
 
WHEREAS, Frankford recovered a fumbled punt and converted for a touchdown to give Frankford a 14-0 lead; and
 
WHEREAS, Washington scored six points on a touchdown run and repeatedly pressured Frankford the rest of the game; now therefore
 
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we honor the Frankford High School Football Team on winning the Public League Championship; and
 
RESOLVED FURTHER, That we congratulate both Frankford and Washington High Schools on excellent seasons; and
 
FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to the Frankford High School Football Team as evidence of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.
