WHEREAS, Mr. Kevin Hannah was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School, an excellent product of the Philadelphia School System; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hannah went directly to work upon graduation, becoming an active member of the Philadelphia Building Trades Union and an operating engineer for more than 25 years, recently promoted to a highly regarded leadership position; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hannah loved his family dearly. He was a loyal and faithful husband to his wife of 22 years, Leslie Daniels-Hannah, and leaves behind a daughter Kalyn Hannah and a son Kevin Hannah, Jr. Family was of the utmost importance to Mr. Hannah; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hannah was a dedicated citizen of the City of Philadelphia, spending his career and spare time working to make the City a better and more beautiful place as well as working to improve the lives of his fellow Philadelphians; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hannah was a well-known figure in Philadelphia politics. He was an active member in the 36th Ward Democratic Executive committee for the 32nd Division for more than 30 years, ensuring that the voices of South Philadelphia were heard and supported by local politicians. Mr. Hannah was acting chairman of the 36th Ward at the time of his passing; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hannah was also a member of the Pennsylvania State Democratic Committee, helping to develop statewide Democratic party policy and performing his civic duty via political participation; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hannah was a longtime member of the Free Masons, one of the oldest and largest fraternal organizations in the world. He participated as a member in various houses within the Masonic family including the Rose of Sharon Lodge and Delco Council #3.
