Honoring and congratulating the Overbrook High School Girls Volleyball Team for winning the 2024 American Conference Championship.

WHEREAS, The Overbrook High School Girls Volleyball Team, under the leadership of Head Coach Carly Dunbar and Assistant Coach Teresa Graves, has achieved an outstanding 12-0 record in the American Conference during the 2024 season, securing the title of American Conference Champions; and

WHEREAS, The team's victory over Simon Gratz High School on October 16th, 2024 is a prime example of their resilience and perseverance. In this thrilling match, the team triumphed 3-2 in
sets; and

WHEREAS, Captain Kimora Locke and her twin sister Keyanna Locke put Overbrook in a strong position with a 25-22 win in the first set; and

WHEREAS, Shaniya Hall led the team in the second set, scoring key points to help secure a 25-23 win; and

WHEREAS, Despite Gratz winning the next two sets, Overbrook rallied in the decisive final set. With the score tied 8-8, Victory Fennell's service led the team to four consecutive points; and

WHEREAS, Shaqeuah Henry then scored on all three of her serves, guiding the team to a 15-8 win in the final set; and

WHEREAS, Justice Williams Turner, Deijah Taylor, and Aniyah Wood also made significant contributions, adding valuable points during all sets of the game; and

WHEREAS, The team demonstrated tremendous skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the season, ultimately finishing with a 12-1 overall record, with the sole defeat coming in a playoff match against upper division schools; and

WHEREAS, The Overbrook High School Girls Volleyball Team exemplified the values of teamwork, dedication, and hard work, with each player contributing to their collective success, and every match serving as a testament to their commitment to excellence; and
