THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
 
SECTION 1. Section 9-204 of The Philadelphia Code, relating to Sidewalk Vendors in Center City is amended to read as follows:
 
§9-204.      Sidewalk Vendors in Center City.

      (8)      Vending Locations.
 
            (a)      The following vendor locations are hereby designated as locations from which vending shall be permitted, provided Council shall not ever designate more that  300 such locations in all of Center City:

3, provided that such locations shall be assigned only to vendors licensed to sell prepared food

SECTION 2.  This ordinance shall be effective immediately.  If any vending location listed in Section 1 is currently assigned to a vendor who is licensed to sell a category of goods other than prepared food, the Department of Licenses and Inspections (“Department”) shall provide written notice to such vendor that the vendor must cease operations at that location within ten days after such notice is issued.  The Department shall reassign such location to a vendor who is licensed to sell prepared food in accordance with the provisions of Section 9-204(8)(d) of The Philadelphia Code.
