Appointing a nine (9) person committee entitled the "Living Wage Advisory Committee" pursuant to §17-1311 of the Philadelphia Code, the purpose of which shall be to review the implementation and effectiveness of Chapter 17-1300 of the Philadelphia Code entitled, "Philadelphia 21st Century Minimum Wage Standard."

WHEREAS, Bill No. 050234 was passed by City Council on May 12, 2005, approved by the Mayor on May 26, 2005, and called for the establishment of a Living Wage Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, The City Council seeks to establish a nine (9) person committee entitled the "Living Wage Advisory Committee," the purpose of which shall be to review the implementation and effectiveness of Chapter 17-1300 of the Philadelphia Code and to make recommendations to the City Council regarding this Chapter; and
WHEREAS, The Living Wage Advisory Committee shall be composed of nine (9) members, composed of representatives of the low-income community, labor and businesses, to be appointed by the City Council, provided that no more than four (4) members are members of the business community. No members of the Committee shall be city contractors, affected employers, or city employees except that at least one (1) member must be appointed to represent the Office of Labor Standards; and
WHEREAS, The Committee shall meet at least quarterly. All meetings shall be open to the public and will allow for public testimony on policies or conduct relating to Chapter 17-1300 of the Philadelphia Code; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That Council hereby appoints the following members to the Living Wage Advisory Committee to review the implementation and effectiveness of Chapter 17-1300 of the Philadelphia Code entitled, "Philadelphia 21st Century Minimum Wage Standard":
