Honoring and congratulating the Father Judge High School Wrestling Team for their second consecutive win of the Philadelphia Catholic League Wrestling Championship in their 2019-2020 season.

WHEREAS, The Father Judge High School wrestling team is led by Head Coach and math teacher Jim Savage; and
WHEREAS, The championship victory marked the fourth Philadelphia Catholic League win in five seasons, and fifth in the past seven years under Coach Savage; and
WHEREAS, The championship match served as a rematch against rivals Archbishop Ryan, as three weeks prior, Archbishop Ryan defeated Father Judge in a tight 48-33 match; and,
WHEREAS, Wrestlers Max Edwards, brothers Sean Logue and Eamonn Louge, and Rob Baker, helped push the team to a successful position that allowed Brenden Spicer's victory to bring home the title; and
WHEREAS, As a senior crusader, Spicer's win in the 182-pound event carried the team to victory, with the final face-off of the match, his pin pushed the team to the winning final score of 36-28; and
WHEREAS, For seniors Matthew Kidwell, Dan Wildonger, Eamonn Logue, Brenden Spicer, Tyler Dombrowski, Max Edwards, and Robert Maier, this was their 3rd League and District championship in four years; and
WHEREAS, Father Judge's mission statement encapsulates their commitment to excellence in academics and athletics stating, "Rooted in spirituality of our patron Saint Francis de Sales, Father Judge High School educates the whole young man spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially in the Catholic tradition"; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby congratulate and honor the Crusaders of Father Judge High School on their 2019-2020 Philadelphia Catholic League Wrestling Championship.
FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy be presented to the Father Judge High School Wrestling team, further evidencing the admiration and respect of this legislative body.
