 Title

Honoring Adam Cubbage.

Body

WHEREAS, Adam Cubbage was born in Philadelphia on June 16, 1976; and

WHEREAS, Adam graduated from St. Martin of Tours grade school in 1990; and

WHEREAS, After grade school, Adam attended George Washington High School where he was elected President of the class of 1994; and

WHEREAS, Adam later attended Pennsylvania State University where he joined the ROTC and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant upon graduation in 1998; and

WHEREAS, Once in the Army, Adam was recruited by the 82^nd Airborne and sent to Fort Bragg, NC where he was promoted to First Lieutenant and Captain while with the unit; and

WHEREAS, After being promoted to Captain, Adam was transferred to the 173^rd Airborne European Strike Force; and

WHEREAS, On March 26, 2003, the anniversary of the creation of the 173^rd, the unit parachuted into Northern Iraq; and

WHEREAS, During his time in Iraq, Adam has been awarded the Bronze Star and the Combat Parachutist Badge; and

WHEREAS, Adam is the adopted soldier of the Our Lady of Grace School in Bucks County; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we honor Adam Cubbage for his meritorious service to the United States; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Adam Cubbage as evidence of the sincere respect and admiration of this legislative body and his hometown.
