WHEREAS, Richard Saadiq Jones is a trusted partner and advocate for his community who has shown himself to be a dedicated and productive citizen of Philadelphia since his return from incarceration; and
WHEREAS, Richard Saadiq Jones has a lifelong mission to make a difference in the world around him. He developed a personal philosophy centered on individual responsibility, rejecting excuses, and inspiring others to find their purpose; and
WHEREAS, Richard Saadiq Jones is known for his compassion for the unhoused and economically disadvantaged. His work in the community is hands-on and directly impactful. He continuously organizes opportunities to help those in need access necessities with dignity; and
WHEREAS, Richard Saadiq Jones is an inspiration to others through his words and actions. He encourages individuals to rise despite their circumstances, helping countless people change their thinking, and empowering them to take control of their lives and strive for success; and
WHEREAS, Richard Saadiq Jones’ impact on his community is undeniable. His dedication, authenticity, and compassion has brought meaningful change and a lasting positive influence on his community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That the 600 Block of North Preston Street also be named “Richard Saadiq Jones Way” to recognize Richard Saadiq Jones for his lasting positive impact and service to his community.
FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed Copy of this Resolution be presented to Richard Saadiq Jones as a token of our appreciation and acknowledgement of his lasting impact on his community.
