WHEREAS, National Manufacturing Month was first established in 2012 by the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association to promote the importance of the manufacturing industry and the family-sustaining careers it can offer; and

WHEREAS, Philadelphia was once referred to as the "Workshop of the World," leading the nation in industrial production and manufacturing in the 1800s. Manufacturing in the City has evolved over time and now includes key sectors in the modern global marketplace such as biopharmaceutical, chemical, plastics, and aerospace manufacturing; and

WHEREAS, The manufacturing industry is a crucial part of the Philadelphia economy, offering over 775,000 direct and indirect jobs in the area and generating over $3,000,000,000 in sales revenue in 2023; and

WHEREAS, AdvanSix, a diversified chemistry company, in particular, has been deeply involved in the manufacturing industry in Philadelphia, tracing its history back to H. W. Jayne Company, which was established at the AdvanSix Frankford plant's present site in 1884. AdvanSix plays a crucial role in the global supply chain, creating products used in building and construction, fertilizers, agrochemicals, plastics, solvents, packaging, paints, coatings, adhesives, and electronics; and

WHEREAS, The AdvanSix Frankford Plant is run by manager and Frankford-native Bill Rodebaugh who recognizes the importance of Frankford's centuries-old reputation as a manufacturing hub and what it means to be an anchor in a working-class community; and

WHEREAS, AdvanSix is a partner in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Manufacturing Alliance, a multi-employer collaborative of regional manufacturers that has dedicated itself to improving the competitiveness of manufacturing in the region and improvi...
