Honoring Joseph Mammana and the Citizens Crime Commission.

WHEREAS, The Citizens Crime Commission of Philadelphia was chartered in 1955 as a small non-profit organization and has grown to cover the entire Delaware Valley; and
 
WHEREAS, The Citizens Crime Commission's objective is to enhance the quality of life in the Delaware Valley by improved safety and security initiatives; and
 
WHEREAS, The Commission's most active program, the TIPLINE has been in continuous operation since 1986, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, helping to make the city a safer place to be while saving the city countless man-hours in overtime for officers; and
 
WHEREAS, The work of the Commission would not be possible without the help of Joseph Mammana, who was elected to its board of directors in 2001; and
 
WHEREAS, Joseph Mammana, through his generous financial support, allows the Commission to offer rewards to those who assist in the capture of violent criminals and to provide financial support to families who have been devastated by crime; and
 
WHEREAS, Mr. Mammana has dedicated his life to improving the City of Philadelphia as evidenced in his commitment to operate a multi-million dollar, international corporation, Cutler Egg, in the heart of North Philadelphia, employing over 100 citizens from the local community; now therefore
 
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby commend and thank Joseph Mammana and the Citizens Crime Commission for the commitment to the safety and well being of every citizen in Philadelphia.
 
FURTHER RESOLVED, That and Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Joseph Mammana and John Apeldorn, President of the Citizen's Crime Commission in recognition of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.
