WHEREAS, Bob Smith, Vice President of Community Impact at Comcast has been with the Company for more than 30 years, and

WHEREAS, for many years, Bob has overseen numerous partnerships between Comcast and Philadelphia non-profits, and

WHEREAS, Bob currently serves on the boards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia and Technology Learning Collaborative, and on the advisory committee of the Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations, and

WHEREAS, Bob has participated in GOING BOLD for Philadelphia's youth, raising over $110M in capital and programmatic funds to provide not only educational, but safe and nurturing spaces for over 13,000 kids served by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia, and

WHEREAS, Bob was key in standing up digital navigation during the pandemic and afterwards to support Philadelphians in crossing the digital divide through PHLConnectED, Internet Essentials, ACP, and other programs, and

WHEREAS, Bob has formed partnerships with organizations such as Beyond Literacy, the Drexel ExCITe Center, SEAMAAC, Food Moxie, and Technology Learning Collaborative have sewn the seeds of digital literacy around the city, and

WHEREAS, Bob previously served on the Philadelphia Sports-Based Youth Development Task Force, the Philadelphia Mayor's Commission on Literacy, and the Ad Council's Philadelphia Leadership Committee, among others, and

WHEREAS, the trust and reliance so many have placed in Bob supported the success of Comcast RISE, a program that has provided over $2,000,000 worth of grants to small black, brown, and woman-owned businesses in the City of Philadelphia, and

WHEREAS, Bob is retiring from a distinguished and recognized career of service and partnership; now, therefore, be it
