Recognizing the Germantown Jazz Festival and its contributions to cultural enrichment, community wellness, and economic vitality in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia.

WHEREAS, The Germantown Jazz Festival returns April 24 through April 26, 2026, featuring three days of live jazz performances, educational programming, and community-centered events hosted at multiple venues throughout Germantown, Philadelphia; and
WHEREAS, The festival includes performances by local and internationally recognized artists, including trumpeter Terell Stafford of Temple University, as well as a master class, community concerts, and a culminating Big Band Jazz Battle featuring leading ensembles; and
WHEREAS, Events will take place at neighborhood institutions including Attic Brewing Company, the Germantown Branch of Settlement Music School, First United Methodist Church of Germantown, the Nile Caf?, and other locations, highlighting the rich cultural and artistic landscape of the Germantown community; and
WHEREAS, The Germantown Jazz Festival is organized by the Community Education and Action Project, Inc. (CEAP), a nonprofit organization founded in November 2021 by Khadijah Renee G. Morgan, and is committed to addressing critical social challenges, especially trauma, gun violence, recovery support, and mental health, through innovative, culturally responsive programming that promotes healing of the mind, body, and spirit; and
WHEREAS, Jazz music, deeply rooted in the history and cultural identity of Germantown and Philadelphia, continues to serve as a powerful medium for artistic expression, cross-cultural dialogue, and community connection; and
WHEREAS, The festival supports local artists, businesses, and organizations, contributing to economic revitalization while creating opportunities for education, engagement, and creative collaboration; and
