WHEREAS The Blackhawks Athletic Club, located at 11th Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue in Philadelphia, has proudly served the youth of Philadelphia since 1968, celebrating more than 58 years of commitment to empowering young people through athletics, mentorship, teamwork, discipline, and community engagement; and
WHEREAS, The organization is a proud member of the Pennsylvania Elite Conference and the American Youth Football & Cheer National League Conference, consistently representing the City of Philadelphia in local, regional and national competition; and
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Head Coach Ronald Reed and his coaching staff, this talented group of young athletes captured four consecutive Pennsylvania Elite City Championships while demonstrating resilience, teamwork, and determination throughout their football journey; and
WHEREAS, During the 2025 season, the Blackhawks 12U Football Team embarked on a historic championship run in Naples, Florida, defeating nationally recognized teams including the Brick City Lions, Beast End Tigers, and the five-time defending national champions, the Miami Garden Ravens, to advance to the title game; and
WHEREAS, The Blackhawks 12U Football Team ultimately defeated the OG Ducks of California to win the 2025 American Youth Football 12U Division I National Championship, becoming one of the only teams in their division to bring a national football championship back to the City of Philadelphia while finishing the season ranked as the #2 12U team in the nation; now, therefore, be it
