Honoring the participants and drafters of the Frankford Plan 2000, Bridges to Destiny, for their hard work and tireless dedication to the Frankford community.
Body
WHEREAS, The Frankford Plan 2000, Bridges to Destiny, builds on the success of the Frankford Plan drafted in 1993; and

WHEREAS, The mission of the Frankford Plan 2000 is to continue the legacy of developing and implementing a five year community-based action plan that involves residents, community leaders, business people, institutional leaders, government officials, youth and children; and

WHEREAS, The Frankford Plan 2000 is a civic and community based movement that encourages and supports focused and coordinated community action; and

WHEREAS, The Frankford Plan 2000 engages and involves the community by contacting churches, community groups, by highlighting the good in the neighborhood and encouraging positive profiles of Frankford neighbors; and

WHEREAS, The plan includes several platforms designed to better the Frankford community including the Commercial District, Culture and Recreation, Education, Health and Human Services, Housing, Jobs and Industry, Marketing / Communications, Open Space, Safety and Clean Streets, Transportation and Parking, and Youth Development; and

WHEREAS, The original Frankford Plan's success included 28 new townhouses, 50 affordable senior housing units, a reduction in vacant storefronts in Frankford and the creation of a Special Services District; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we honor the participants and drafters of the Frankford Plan 2000; and

RESOLVED FURTHER, That we wish the Frankford Community and the drafters and participants in the plan continued success in their efforts to revitalize Frankford; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to representatives of the Frankford Plan 2000 as evidence of the sincere respect and deep admiration of this legisla...
