Confirming the appointment of Kenya Mann, Esq., as a member of the Board of Ethics, to serve in the term ending November 16, 2008.
Body
WHEREAS, Mayor John F. Street appointed and Council confirmed Pauline Abernathy as a member of the Philadelphia Board of Ethics, to serve a two-year term to end November 16, 2008; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Abernathy has resigned her position on the Board of Ethics, creating a vacancy; and
 
WHEREAS, Section 3-806(c) (“Vacancies”) of the Home Rule Charter provides that vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired portion of the term of the member succeeded; and
 
WHEREAS, Mayor Michael A. Nutter has nominated Kenya Mann, Esq., for appointment as a member of the Philadelphia Board of Ethics, to serve in the unexpired portion of the vacant term; and
 
WHEREAS, Section 3-806 of the Charter requires the advice and consent of a majority of all members of the Council for the appointment of members of the Board of Ethics; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
 
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA,
 
That Council hereby consents to and confirms the appointment of Kenya Mann, Esq., as a member of the Board of Ethics, to serve in the term ending November 16, 2008.
