Naming and designating the Department of Recreation owned field located at Fourth and York Streets as the "Eric N. Casiano Field."
Body
WHEREAS, Eric N. Casiano was a brave and heroic member of the Philadelphia Fire Department and served with Engine 2; and
 
WHEREAS, On May 3rd, 1999, Mr. Casiano lost his life in the line of duty while fighting a fire at 2240 Orianna Street; and
 
WHEREAS, There is a public park located at 4th and York Streets, across the street from the site where Mr. Casiano died; and
 
WHEREAS, The Spanish American Professional Fire Fighters Association (SAPFA) has agreed to adopt the field and contribute to its maintenance and upkeep; and
 
WHEREAS, It is appropriate that this park be named after Mr. Casiano as a tribute to his life and the ultimate sacrifice that he made; now, therefore
 
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
 
SECTION 1. The Field located at the intersection of 4th and York Streets is designated and shall be named “Eric N. Casiano Field”.
