Body

      WHEREAS, Following Saturday's win against Connecticut's Post University, Philadelphia University's Division II Basketball Coach Herb Magee notched his 902^nd career coaching win, tying with that of Indiana University's Bobby Knight, who has held the record since the early 1980s; and

WHEREAS, Coach Magee is on the verge of surpassing Bobby Knight's NCAA record of 902 career wins, with the victory of tonight's game against Delaware's Goldey-Beacom College; and

WHEREAS, Coach Magee's commitment is apparent through his longevity of dedication, first as a student of Philadelphia University in 1959, and then 50 years later, as the victorious coach of the Men's Basketball Team; now therefore

RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby recognizes, honors, and celebrates Philadelphia University's Men's Basketball Coach Herb Magee for his 902^nd career coaching win.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Herb Magee as evidence of the sincere admiration of this legislative body.
